Rod L. Castan has twenty five years of experience in commercial property development, sales, leasing, and management. He is the Vice President of Leasing, sits on the real estate development company’s Board of Directors, and is currently responsible for the leasing of 20 existing properties and multiple new development projects, totaling almost 2.5 million square feet in Florida and Colorado. Mr. Castan’s responsibilities include leasing, property management, planning and budgeting, site selection and market analysis. He has negotiated leases with major retailers such as Publix, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and many others. Prior to joining Courtelis Company, Rod Castan was Vice President/District Leasing Manager with Balcor Property Management where he was responsible for the leasing of 1.7 million square feet of shopping centers in the Southeast United States.
Rod Castan is the Southern Division Operations Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and was among the first retail leasing specialists to receive the CLS designation, and has now been awarded the Senior Certified Leasing Specialist designation, SCLS and the CoStar Power Broker designation. He has been a lecturer and guest speaker at real estate programs at ICSC, ULI, University of Florida, FSU, FIU and Miami Board of Realtors.
